I am Love

I made a book and if you've enjoyed any of my writing over the years, or if you just found me and like my words, you may enjoy it.
In fact, I think you may LOVE it.
It's a love letter to motherhood. To the tender and joyful moments;
as well as the raw and confusing. Motherhood in all its shades and colours –
tricky, complex and so, so interesting.
It features words by me, and images from
Nadja Arold
Lauren Johnson
Heather Robinson
Let me tell you something
about motherhood.
It’s not an either/or.
It’s not all beauty and wonder.
Or all drudge and difficulty.
Birth is blissful and terrifying, painful and ecstatic.
Likewise, what comes after.
It can be all those things within the same hour
or day or week.
Children are magical and maddening. They
exhaust you and they give you so much energy
you could take over the world. There’s no time for
you and yet, the you at this time might be the
best version of yourself you’ve ever experienced.
There’s dark, there’s light, there’s pain, there’s joy.
That’s the truth.
This book is a call and response across many
miles and different experiences of motherhood
– illustrated in images and words – a way of
making what is often unseen, seen.
I hope you see yourself here also.
